Watch Roseanne Liang's Sundance short DO NO HARM, Vimeo's Pick of the Week
Just in time for Halloween, check out Vimeo’s Staff Pick Premiere of DO NO HARM directed by Roseanne Liang.
It’s the story of a truly badass woman who uses her MD, scalpel and something between raw rage and a black belt to obliterate anyone who lays a finger on her patient, even if the man on the operating table is straight-up evil.
DO NO HARM premiered in the Midnight Shorts section of the Sundance Film Festival last year and had a prodigious film festival run.
Here is the synopsis: 3am. 1980s Hongjing — In an aging private hospital, a single-minded surgeon is forced to break her physician’s oath when violent gangsters storm in to stop a crucial operation.
Vimeo interviewed Liang on the inspiration behind this film—a harrowing story involving the Hippocratic Oath that her sister, who is a surgeon, told her.
DO NO HARM is really dark and shows off that Liang’s wheelhouse is definitely in the horror genre. I can’t wait to see what she has in store next!
