If you saw the very spoilery conclusion to the first season, then you already know what’s up, as Daniel is preparing for the students of Cobra Kai to meet their match, as he plans to start up his own dojo. As far as the facility goes, fans can expect to return to a very familiar set in the form of the house of his beloved sensei, Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita).
As revealed recently at New York Comic Con, and to the rest of the world this week, the house is not the same one used in the original films. The original house that was seen in the very first film in 1984 was torn down before production began on PART II, and so a replica was built on the Columbia back lot. Once work completed on PART III, that set was torn down too.
Elements from both sets were used to create this very spot-on replica of the house, and with it being nearly three decades since we last saw it, there have been new details added to it as well, as indicated by actors Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso) and Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene).
Already from the first season alone, there have been a number of tributes and mentions made to Mr. Miyagi. The fact that his house will be appearing throughout Season 2 is going to have fans turning in nostalgic mush.
COBRA KAI Season 2 is set for release in 2019.
