ESTELLE CHEN is only 20 years old and is a Victoria’s Secret model. She is the youngest Chinese model to be recruited into Victoria’s Secret having been spotted when she was only 14 years old. Chen was born in China but spent all her life growing up in France. She has huge dreams and one major dream is to study economics at one of the most prestigious business schools – either in Paris or in New York.

Chen will be 1 of 6 Chinese models to strut their stuff for Victoria’s Secret American premium lingerie producer’s latest designs in Shanghai on November 28.

Chen speaks to SCMP about her future dreams and goals:

“I kind of miss school, and having something to do apart from modelling,” Chen says. If she fails to gain a place at the prestigious institution, she says, her other options would be either Columbia or New York University in the United States.

In the past few seasons, she has modelled for luxury brands including Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton.

Chen speaks French, English, Mandarin and the local dialect of Wenzhou, a coastal city in Zhejiang province, where her mother comes from. Her Chinese father was born in France.

Chen says her parents were supportive of her choice to take up modelling because they knew it was her dream. “Of course, they were worried, as parents usually are, but they trust me and they are also really proud.”

What a wonderful young woman and I am sure we will hear more of her – keep your eyes peeled!
