It was announced this past week that Emile Hirsch (SPEED RACER) was joining the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s Charles Manson movie ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Pacino, Dakota Fanning and others. But one person who’s not happy about this news is THE GOOD PLACE star Jameela Jamil. Jamil took to her Twitter to post the following message on the heels of the announcement: “Cool. Emile Hirsch strangled my tiny female best friend until she blacked out at a party in front of dozens of witnesses at Sundance Film Festival (and was convicted) but Tarantino just cast him in a movie. INTENSE case of rich white male privilege eh? Cool. Cool. Cool.🖕🏽”

Jamil is referencing a 2015 incident where Hirsch attacked Paramount Digital VP Daniele Bernfeld at a nightclub during the festival. But Jamil wasn’t done. She added that Hirsch has not apologized for the incident nor paid any restitution to her friend who struggled with PTSD for three years afterwards, yet is still allowed to re-join “the Hollywood elite”.

This isn’t the first time Jamil has given zero fucks on Twitter when it comes to an issue she’s passionate about–recently calling out unrealistic body images for women and penning an essay on sexual consent following the Aziz Ansari sexual harassment accusations.
