If you’ve been keeping up with this season’s SILICON VALLEY, you know that Jian-Yang (Jimmy O. Yang) tried to create an app described as “the Shazam for food” aka “SeeFood”.

In theory, you could take a picture of any food item and the app would tell you what that food item is. But there was a snag…while the app could correctly identify a hot dog, unfortunately with any other food item, the app could only identify it as “not hot dog”.

But fortunately for us, the SeeFood app is real and you can download it for your iOS devices here. Here’s the official description of the app:

What would you say if I told you there is a app on the market that tell you if you have a hotdog or not a hotdog. It is very good and I do not want to work on it any more. You can hire someone else.
