Well that was short lived. Taiwanese Australian Shan Ju Lin has been dumped as a candidate for racist political party One Nation, after all her homophobic comments made on her Facebook page. We just wrote about this a few days back, where she stated that “gays should be treated as patients”.
Well her 5 minutes of shame fame is now but a figment of the imagination, but it does not mean she hasn’t manipulated the media as much as she possibly can. In some ways there are many contradictions in what happened. Where I am in some ways “satisfied” that Shan has been dumped, its interesting that a racist political party (anti Asian and anti Muslim) is pro LGBTIQ? Well the answer for this is pretty simple as the One Nation Chief of Staff James Ashby is a gay white man, so obviously he feels offended by Shan’s comments. Yes, what she said was sick and disgusting, but this party in some ways are running on double standards. In any case, I am glad that she is gone, she is indeed a problematic person and sold her soul to a bunch of white nationalists.
Well, it appears that Shan has issued a statement on her Facebook page where she discusses what has transpired and thanks the supporters from the party who are still rooting for her.
Shan was also interviewed by Australian media and this is what she said to the ABC News (via Brisbane Times):
“I think Pauline gave him too much power, he is the one running the party, not Pauline,”
“I should have had a chance to speak to Pauline but James Ashby just decided very quickly.”
You would think the controversy is over at this point, well, it definitely is not. James Ashby has been accused by Shan and her supporters from the party of being more concerned about his own agenda and her comments rather than what is best for the party (in my opinion, if the party failed and broke apart, that would be the best scenario):
“I would suggest that the alleged issue was far more important to Mr Ashby than the membership or executive of One Nation,” Ms Lin said on Sunday.
She said she would not be apologising for her posts, including that “gays should be treated as patients” and that “abnormal sex behaviour leads to abnormal crime”.
And yes, she is still delusional and extremely ignorant. She seriously puts all of us “bad Asians” (as she calls it) to shame:
“The gay community always say they are born like that the best way to know if they’re born like that, they at least need to have a medical consultation so they know if they’re born like that or not,” she told the ABC.
Shan is still waiting for Pauline Hanson to call her. She was dis-endorsed online via a Facebook message. Well let’s hope she disappears into the shadows as quick as she made headlines – the sooner the better, I’d say.
