According to Deadline Hollywood, actress Ellen Tamaki has been cast as a series regular on the CW Network’s upcoming CHARMED reboot. The original series aired in the late ’90s on the WB and originally starred Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano (Rose McGowan replaced Doherty, who exited the series after Season 3).
Penned by Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin and created with Urman, the Charmed reboot revolves around three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches. Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done… Tamaki will portray Nico, a detective on the Hilltowne police force whose romantic relationship with one of the sisters complicates her investigation.
Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffrey have been cast as the new witch sisters in the reboot in what seemingly may be PoC characters
