The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (LAAPFF) 2017, was officially launched tonight by celebrating the 15 years since BETTER LUCK TOMORROW world premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
And if you didn’t know by now, the film was directed by YOMYOMF’s founder Justin Lin. It is an indie film which was made by sheer passion and determination and launched the successful career of not only Justin, but some of the other actors in the film.
What is most inspiring about BETTER LUCK TOMORROW is how before external funding sources were invested, all major expenses were billed onto a number of Justin’s credit cards, but sheer will and passion of everyone involved created a film which was picked up by MTV after it debuted at Sundance.
Personally I have watched this film around 5 times, but watching it tonight on the big screen in its original form (Sundance Festival version) was just so surreal and an amazing experience.
Anyways, without further adieu, here are the images taken from tonight from the red carpet all the way to the Q&A session after the screening – oh and yes there is the obligatory selfie with myself and Karin Anna Cheung… ENJOY!
