A poster from THE MAJESTIC MR. JESSE
We are encouraging the Interpretations Short Film Initiative Top 15 filmmakers to market and promote their films, especially for the audience vote, and some of them have already utilized our POV section to post their own blog entries about their films and using the hashtag #Interpretations15.
Here’s what some of the Top 15 filmmakers are blogging about:
- #Interpretations15: Dancers Hate His New Secret Move. I Hired MR. JESSE, And What Happened Next Blew My Mind! — Director Lawrence Chen writes up a mock advertisement for his main character, karaoke song and dance maestro Mr. Jesse, who is featured in his short entry, THE MAJESTIC MR. JESSE.
- #Interpretations15 – Zombies and Parents — Director Elaine Loh counts her lucky charms to be working in the film business, as she takes her visiting parents to a Dapper Cadaver, a shop that sells zombie arms, pig guys and morgue supplies. Oh, and there’s a blooper reel for her short, SCARE ME!
- A little easter egg for those who watched my short film SINGULARITY #interpretations15 — Tom Choi, the director of SINGULARITY, shares a cool commercial created by his FX team Pettus Creative, that showcases the augmented reality and sci-fi universe that serves as the backdrop to his film.
- #Interpretations15: Sketch-y Footage — Jason M. Klein, the director of SKETCH blogs about how the Interpretations contest rules actually helped the film, especially in the fleshing out of the dry humor and dramatic beats in his story.
For the Interpretations Top 15, this semi-final group of films will be vying for the Final 3 winning slots (2 will be chosen by our industry jury headed by Justin Lin and the final slot will be determined by audience voting).
You can view the Top 15, as well as all the short film entries over at the Interpretations website.
