2017 is the 15th anniversary of the premiere of BETTER LUCK TOMORROW at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival. The film was directed by YOMYOMF founder Justin Lin (who would go on to helm everything from the FAST & FURIOUS franchise to last summer’s STAR TREK BEYOND) and featured many soon-to-be members of the extended YOMYOMF family both in front of and behind the camera.

Yes, this was the film that gave birth to YOMYOMF so we’re proud to be the community co-presenter for the 15th anniversary screening of the film, which will be the opening night presentation of Visual Communications’ 2017 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival at the beautiful Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on April 27, 2017 at 7PM. This will be the ultra-rare Sundance Festival version of the film, which has not been screened publicly since the the premiere 15 years ago and is not available on DVD or Blu-Ray.

You can click here to purchase tickets to the event. In attendance will be Justin himself as well as many of those who worked on the film including actors Karin Anna Cheung, Roger Fan, Sung Kang, Parry Shen, Aaron Takahashi and more to be announced.

But we’ll also be giving away two pairs of tickets to the opening through our YOMYOMF Foundation. Here’s what you need to do to enter to win:

Follow us on Twitter here and/or like our Facebook page here. Once you do that, send us a one sentence response to our Twitter and/or Facebook page about why you’d like to attend the screening using the #BLT15 and #LAAPFF2017 hashtags. Enter by 11:59 PM PST on Monday, April 24, 2017. You must be 18 years or older to enter.

We will pick one winner from Twitter and one from Facebook. You can enter on both Twitter and Facebook, but only one entry per person on each platform.

You must be in the Los Angeles area and/or be able to provide your own transportation to the event. Please do not enter unless you can attend the screening. If you win, we will email your tickets to you by April 23.

Good luck and hope to see you at the screening! And check out the rest of the LAAPFF 2017 screenings and programs here. This is a great way to show your support for Asian American cinema.
