The good news (at least for today) is that there’s some heat there on the meter. That’s because the BrookLin Nets notched another W for the season with a 121-110 victory over the New York Knicks.
JL-to-the-7 didn’t have a great shooting night (going 5-of-16 from the field), but did end up with a decent overall stat line, scoring 15 points along with 4 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals. Most importantly, the Nets won the game, their second victory over the hapless Knicks in the past week.
Above and beyond gaining some semblance of revenge against Jeremy’s former team, there is also a positive trend starting to show itself in these last few weeks as well. Since Jeremy’s returned to the lineup and started getting decent minutes (let’s just call it at the beginning of March), the Nets have been hovering around .500 (though they currently stand at 4-5 overall in March).
(the accompanying soundtrack to the above pic goes something like this: “Move, b*tch, get out’ the way, get out’ the way, get out’ the way…”)
In stark contrast, the team had a string of 11 losses in a row between December and January followed by another discouraging streak of 16 losses in a row between January and February. All while Jeremy was recuperating and rehabilitating from a hamstring injury.
Coincidence? I think not.
Let’s hope they can keep this trend going and build some momentum heading into the off-season (so that potential recruits/free agents can see that things are going in the right direction).
